Adopt-a-cow:

Taking care of cows is an important part of our spiritual culture. The Vedas teach that the cow is like the mother of society - for she gives milk that nourishes both young and old. The development and refinement of consciousness is what the practice of Bhakti Yoga is all about. Being sensitive and compassionate towards others, even lesser animals, is the mark of a civilized person. This is our reasong for providing shelter and care for cows.

The cows on our Potomac property have long stopped producing milk, but they will be loved and cared for until their natural death. Feed, Veterinarian care, equipment, supplemental minerals and medicine are all necessary expenses in the care of the cows.

Our Master Plan for the Temple gardens include a new Goshalla (Cow shelter) and fencing. We are also installing an irrigation system that will insure the cows have ample clean drinking water and earth moving to ensure easy access to high ground during flooding.
